Clubs FAQ

How do I create a Club?

If you’re interested in creating a club:

What the Students’ Union can do for your club?

Once your club has been ratified and you are ready to launch your club into action, the ECSU is here to help make your work easier. We are happy to provide you with support managing your club.

Club Email Address - We will set up a unique email address for your club so that it’s easy for people to contact you. What’s great about this address is that it’s email forwarding, which means if Joe is running the “Awesome Club”, all emails sent to “awesomeclub@ecsu.ca” will be forwarded to Joe’s personal email. You can have up to four people set up for email forwarding so that you’ll never miss a message.

Room Bookings for Club Meetings - Ratified clubs can book the ECSU’s Multi-Purpose Room or our staff can help you book a room on campus.

Club Promotion & Community Involvement - Do you need help promoting your club? Make an appointment through info@ecsu.ca. We can help teach you how to successfully manage your club, advertise club events through posters around the school, or social media.

Website & Handbook - Your club is also promoted through the Emily Carr Students’ Union official website and member handbook. You can send photographs of your club in action to info@ecsu.ca to add to our Clubs Page.

Large Event Planning - Do you want to put together a large event, but don’t have enough funds to make it happen? Make an appointment to come in and talk to us about a Special Event Grant. Note that large events open to the public may need specific insurance coverage. Please consult with ECSU staff before planning such events, as not all events may be insurable.
