University Governance

How students fit into the operations and decision-making of the University?

On campus, the ECSU engages with the university administration in a variety of ways. This is to ensure the student’s voice is well represented as decisions are made on issues that affect your education and university experience. Your elected representatives hold seats on a number of university committees and groups, including the University Board of Governors as well as the Senate.

Student representatives are active in the following areas:

  • Advocating for the affordability of your education. The ECSU has and continues to engage students annually on tuition and mandatory fee increases proposed by the University, ensuring that students receive real value for cost increases.

  • Advocating for the quality of student life to ensure that the University is committed to continually improve non-academic programs and services for students.

  • Ensuring that the views of students are adequately represented in the University’s guiding vision and strategy.
