BIPOC Artist Collective

The BIPOC Artist Collective advocates for a sense of community for racialized students at ECUAD. We hope to have a safe space where we can create art together and actively work on building an anti-racist creative work environment. BIPOC students deserve to take up space in a way that feels safe and is representative of our plight. The collective provides inclusivity and solidarity for Black, indigenous, and people of colour in an oppressive systemic structure. In the face of racial marginalization, we believe in community as a supportive basis for action, with hope propelling us towards the fight for liberation.

Etcetera!! Collective

We're a radical crew of creative queers looking for like-minded creatures who want to make conversation-starting, controversial, or otherwise kickass expressive art, design, photography and more: Identity, body positivity, kink, mature education, disability, intimacy, queer love, self love, consent, sensuality, and self representation from people and bodies
that don't get to be seen on white walls.

Open hatred and prejudice towards queer self expression is on the rise at ECUAD, and together we stand against it.

Together we’ll collaborate, share and promote each other's work, publish zines, and raise each other up for our first ever group exhibition.

Fibreshed

The Fibreshed class at ECU is making a fibre art material sharing library. The cart would help bring together Emily Carr’s Fibre craft community and make fibre arts more accessible. Our cart will function similarly to book sharing libraries with a “take what you need, leave what you can” system. The cart will have wheels in order to be portable and will be filled with tools, yarn, raw fibre, patterns and more. There have been successful fibre libraries hosted all over Vancouver. We have reached out to local yarn store Baaad Anna’s with hopes of collaborating, they have been at forefront of the fibre library projects here in Vancouver. We would like the library to be a connection point for ECU students and the Fibre art community in the city. Additionally, we hope to host events to bring ECU’s fibre enthusiasts together such as knit nights, artist talks, or spinning workshops.
